My earlier work clearly stands in an ambiguous space raising questions rather than attempting to make statements or provide answers, and thereby lie closer to art than design, but the kind of questions I ask challenge the status of such apparent oppositions as art/design or even question/answer. Borrowing strategies from diverse fields such as graphic communications, industrial design, interior architecture and conceptual art, I try to devise hybrid projects that appear to offer a use value, a function, but at the same time subtly undermine the very notion of usability and thereby provoke an uncertainty or confusion in the mind of the viewer.
